Lure the dog back to your side, then click and reward.

Here are a couple of ways that you can change pulling into watching:

1. The Be a Tree exercise: When Ranger rushes ahead of you, stand still. Don’t let the leash out. When he looks back at you, click/praise and reward. If he remains looking at you or looks at you a second time, click/praise and reward. When he takes a step or two toward you, click/praise and reward. As he moves closer and closer to you, click/praise and reward. When he returns to you, click/praise and reward. Take another couple of steps forward. If Ranger again rushes ahead, do the same exercise of shaping his return. If Ranger remains with you, click/praise and reward.
